Sierra Artemus
Sierra Artemus is a Columbia, South Carolina native widely recognized for her work in local television and media. Currently serving as a Media Specialist, she brings her talents as a voice actor, public speaker, and brand marketing consultant to various creative and professional projects.
A 2010 graduate of Richland Northeast High School, Sierra also earned her cosmetology license through the South Carolina Board of Cosmetology. She worked in esthetics while attending school and later earned her associate degree from Midlands Technical College in 2015, where she took multiple writing courses to develop her storytelling skills.
Sierra continued her education at the University of South Carolina, earning a bachelor’s degree in broadcast journalism with a minor in business and marketing. While in school, she contributed to Home Grown Magazine, a publication dedicated to spotlighting local music artists, and apprenticed at a local radio station.
Her dynamic media career began with an internship at WOLO 25 / ABC Columbia in 2017, where she was quickly promoted to Morning News Producer, responsible for a two-hour daily newscast. In 2019, Sierra became the digital announcer and on-camera personality for Bible Way Church of Atlas Road, helping guide their online presence.
At the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic, Sierra stepped into the role of digital content producer and media consultant, helping professionals build their platforms and enhance audience engagement. In 2021, she launched her podcast SiTV, featuring conversations with business owners, creatives, and community leaders to inspire and motivate the next generation.
That same year, she became the host of Carolina Showcase Careers on WACH FOX 57, where she interviewed both local and national clients.
In 2022, she joined WIS-TV News 10 and was instrumental in launching the lifestyle program Soda City Live, serving as both producer and host. Due to the show’s success, the station expanded it into an additional half-hour program, Soda City Living, which she also led until 2025.
In 2023, Sierra was promoted to the station’s marketing department and took on an additional role as co-host of the University of South Carolina’s alumni digital newsletter, Inside Carolina, alongside award-winning journalist Hannah Horne.
Sierra’s commitment to community runs deep. She serves on the board of The Therapy Place, Inc., a nonprofit offering therapy and preschool services for children with special needs. She is a strong advocate for youth empowerment, mental health awareness, black maternal health, and domestic violence prevention.
Inspired by an early career motto—listen, connect, and inspire—Sierra has made it her mission to uplift those around her through her platform and journalistic skills. She is also a self-professed foodie, loves exploring new cuisines, relaxing on the beach, spending time with her family, and volunteering in the community.
Sierra continues to grow as a journalist, producer, and community leader, with a heart for storytelling and a passion for connecting with audiences.
